【Abukuma Caves summary】
Abukuma Caves was discovered by accident in 1969 during limestone mining. It is characterized by the variety and number of stalactites, and is about 600 meters long. The temperature inside the caves is low (around 15 degrees Celsius even in mid-summer), and those who do not like the cold may want to bring a coat of clothing. There is a general course (about 30 minutes) and a general course + exploration course (40 minutes).
The footpaths are easy to walk on and the lights are beautifully illuminated with changing colors.
The stalactites, formed over thousands of years, are interesting in many ways.
The fusion of the light with the cave, which is not normally illuminated, and the sound of dripping water that can be heard when the place is quiet, was a nice unrealistic space.
Various stalactites have different themes, and the area with the largest space is really as wide as a dome, which is beautifully illuminated and sometimes hosts concerts. There are also souvenir shops and restaurants, so it is easy to go sightseeing. I would recommend it in the summer time.

Manager’s Comments
It is a rather large limestone cave with many stalactites of various shapes, and the art of nature created over a long period of time is spectacular and splendid.
