【Tokyo SkyTree summary】
The Tokyo Sky Tree is one of Tokyo’s landmarks, following the Tokyo Tower. The Tokyo Sky Tree opened in 2012 at a total cost of approximately 65 billion yen, because the existing Tokyo Tower, a radio tower, was located in an area of the city center where a forest of skyscrapers made it difficult for radio waves to reach the shadowed parts of the city. The tower was certified by Guinness World Records as the tallest existing radio tower in the world at 634 m, which is taller than the 628.8 m KVLY-TV tower in the United States.
The general appearance of the tower makes full use of the idea of traditional Japanese architecture that utilizes “mukuri” or the gentle “wari” curve of a Japanese sword, and also incorporates the aesthetic element of warp, so that the tower appears to tilt or to have an asymmetrical hem, depending on the direction from which you look at it.
The price per adult on the day of admission is ¥3,500 on weekdays and ¥3,800 on weekends.
The elevator and observation corridor were wrapped with characters until December 22, 2024.
【Tokyo SkyTree First Observatory】
There are two observation decks, the first at 350 meters and the second at 450 meters.
The observation deck offers a 360-degree view of the Tokyo cityscape, and on clear days you can even see as far as Mt.
It is a three-story building and is rather spacious. Inside there is a restaurant, a cafe, a small goods sales area, and a photo spot.
【Tokyo SkyTree Observatory 2 (Sky View Corridor)】
The second observation deck (TEMBO Kairo) is relatively small because it is a corridor. If there are many tourists, it will be crammed…….The view is better after climbing more than 100m, but to be honest, it depends on each person whether it is worth the extra 1,000 yen.

Manager’s Comments
It is a good place for sightseeing because it is a sightseeing complex with an aquarium, planetarium, and large commercial facilities in the vicinity of the tower, so you can enjoy it even if you do not climb the tower. The price for one adult on the same day is ¥3,500 on weekdays and ¥3,800 on weekends. It is better to make a reservation in advance for families, etc. On holidays and during the season, it is crowded, so the level of satisfaction will be lower.
