【Asuka-no Shokei summary】
Asuka-no-Shoikei is a path between Asukayama Park and the railroad tracks near Oji Station in Kita-ku, Tokyo. Asukayama Park is famous for its cherry blossoms, but in June, visitors can enjoy hydrangeas on Asuka-no Shokei. About 1,300 colorful hydrangeas bloom along the 350-meter path. For those who love trains, this is also a spot where you can see trains up close.
The hydrangeas along the railroad tracks are beautifully blooming with purple, blue, pink, pastel and other colors. 2024 I took a walk on June 16.
A “shokei” is a path so small that two or more people cannot pass through it side by side. On rainy days, it is difficult to pass each other with an umbrella….
It has been a local haunt for hydrangeas, but recently, due to the influence of SNS, the number of foreign tourists has been relatively high.
There are also stairs from Asukayama Park to Asuka-no Koji.
Kamakura is famous for its hydrangeas, but I personally think this is a good spot for hydrangeas in Tokyo because it is close to the station, easy to take pictures, and free of charge because of its flat footing and barrier-free access.
If you go in the direction of Nanasha-jinja Shrine, you will find Asuka-no-Kozaka (Asuka-no-Shojo-zaka). Everyone turns back here, but we urge you to visit Shichisha Shrine as well.
