【Lunar Stone Maple Park summary】
Lunar Stone Maple Park will be a park where you can see very beautiful autumn leaves during the fall season. The park is also illuminated during the fall foliage season, so visitors can see beautiful autumn leaves illuminated by the light. Admission is 100 yen during the day and 300 yen at night.
【Lunar Stone Maple Park】
Because it is the best spot for viewing autumn foliage in the Nagatoro area, there are many tourists, including many from overseas. The park itself is not that big, but you can reach Iwadatami and Arakawa River by going down from Momiji Park.
When going to Iwadatami, we recommend that you wear comfortable walking shoes because there are many places where the rocks are bumpy, wet, and slippery due to fallen leaves. The Arakawa River runs all the way to Tokyo, and being upstream of the Arakawa River, it is very clear.
【Saitama Prefectural Museum of Nature】
Near the park is the Nature Museum, which has specimens and fossils of creatures and animals that lived in Nagatoro in the past. The fee was 200 yen for adults and free for children.
The museum is much larger than you might imagine, with fossils, specimens, and taxidermy to see.
It is hard to believe that Chichibu was once at the bottom of the sea, but the explanations helped me understand. There is also an exhibit where you can touch the exhibits, which the children enjoyed.
The museum surprisingly has a diorama that recreates nature. The ceiling is high to recreate a forest, and visitors can press a button to hear the sounds of the animals that live there. The way the space is used is very well done, and is well worth seeing.
It is just across the road from Lunar Stone Maple Park, so if you decide to go somewhere else on your Nagatoro sightseeing tour, I recommend it.

Manager’s Comments
I wanted to see the autumn leaves illuminated at night, but I had to return home after lunch because of chronic traffic congestion on the way back from Tokyo for a day trip. I would like to stay overnight to see it someday.
