Tsugaru-han Neputa village is a tourist facility for the Hirosaki Neputa Festival, located next to Hirosaki Castle. It is not a large facility, but inside you can see exhibits of Hirosaki Neputa. Every few hours you will hear a live performance of Tsugaru jongara bushi on the Tsugaru shamisen. The jongara bushi was sung by the vassals to comfort the spirits of the fallen lord of the castle in Keicho 2 (1597).” Jongara” is the name of a place called ”Kamigawara.” It is said that the song began when the castle lord’s graveyard was located in Kamigawara and they composed a song of sympathy and lamentation. The power of the shamisen depends on the puller, but seeing the performance up close will be a good memory for you. It is recommended to check the performance time of Tsugaru shamisen before entering the museum.

In addition, visitors can try their hand at playing the Tsugaru shamisen under the guidance of a professional performer in a separate room, though reservations are required.

We have experienced the dove whistle in the past, but there are also goldfish nepta painting, Tsugaru pottery painting, Tsugaru natural indigo dyeing, and others.

You can buy it by mail order, but it may be sold out, and it is recommended to buy it at the store because you can eat it freshly baked. It is different from traditional Nanbu Senbei, but it is a good souvenir. All of them are delicious, but I personally buy pecan nut rice crackers most often.
