Osaka Castle is a representative work of Japanese castle architecture, featuring a keep, moat, and stone walls. The present structure was rebuilt in 1931 and is now a reinforced concrete structure.
Osaka Castle was built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Toyotomi Hideyoshi was a military commander of the Warring States and Azuchi-Momoyama periods from the end of the 16th century to the beginning of the 17th century, who unified Japan.
